Singapore confirms first case of local transmission of monkeypox

The Singapore Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that it had found the first case of local transmission of monkeypox on Wednesday (6/7/2022) local time.

The patient was identified as a Malaysian citizen who resides in Singapore.

Singapore’s Ministry of Health took swift steps to quarantine three people for 21 days, namely two who lived at home with the patient and another who met him.

Until now, contact tracing is being carried out to further trace who has met the patient.
