Sinfonietta Rīga under the direction of Pāvo Jervi will open Pärnu Music Festival / Day

This is the second time in the eleven years of the festival that Latvian musicians have been awarded the honor of opening a significant music forum. The concert program will feature the two most notable names of contemporary Estonian composers. The work of Erki Sven Clean will be performed The shadow of the cross and two Arvo Perta opuses – Amount a Brothers (Estonian violinist Trīna Rūbela will play solo). The concert culminated in the Eighth Symphony of Ludwig van Beethoven.

The Pärnu Music Festival was founded in 2010 by the remarkable dynasty of Jervi musicians, and it has already won a stable place in the calendar of musical events in Northern Europe.

The Pärnu Festival will take place from July 11 to 18. Together with the Estonian Festival Orchestra, founded by Pavo Jervi, where the conductor has brought together members of various European orchestras and the best Estonian musicians, outstanding soloists will perform at the festival concerts this year – German pianist Lars Fogt, American violinist Joshua Bell and French flutist.

One of the missions of the festival is to educate young musicians. Latvian musicians – violinist Eva Bindere and clarinetist Guntis Kuzma – have also been invited as teachers in this year’s master classes. As a student, the chamber choir will study with conductors Pāvo and Kristjana Jervi While… artistic director, conductor Aivis Greters and cellist Margarita Balanas.
