“Sinfonietta Rīga” concludes the season with a dialogue of baroque and contemporary music / Article

The program of the closing concert of the chamber orchestra “Sinfonietta Rīga” was formed by the contrast between the confirmation of the faith of the Baroque period and the emotional message of the contemporary musicians. The concert featured Johann Sabestian Bach’s Fourth Suite for Orchestra and his son Karl Philip Emanuel Bach’s Symphony in Remorazor.

As opposed to the ancient harmony of the 18th century, the concert featured the opus “Requies” by Luciono Berio, the Italian avant-garde and pioneer of electronic music. Aleksandrs Sitkoveckis, an outstanding British violinist of Russian origin, presented the Violin Concerto of the contemporary American composer John Adams with a temperamental and technically complex performance.
