Irish singer Sinead O’Connor, who died in July at age 56, died of “natural causes“, according to the conclusions of the judicial investigation made public Tuesday in London.
In a press release, the court in Southwark, south London, in charge of the investigation into the death of the interpreter of “Nothing Compares 2 U“, “confirms that Ms. O’Connor died of natural causes“.
The singer was found dead in her London apartment last July. At the time, police said the Irish singer’s death was not being treated as suspicious and added that a forensic pathologist would conduct an autopsy.
A few weeks before her death, Sinead O’Connor had revealed on her Facebook page that she had returned to live in London and that she was finishing a new album scheduled for release in 2024. Her latest album, I’m Not Bossy, I’m the Bosswas released in 2014. More recently, she published her memoir, Rememberingsin 2021.
Countless artists and other personalities have paid tribute to the artist, including Garbage, Massive Attack, Alanis Morissette and the Foo Fighters.
In March, a concert honoring Sinead O’Connor and late Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan will take place in New York.
