The Chairman of the Management Board of the Union of Prison Employees Yasen Todorov protested in Burgas with an interesting outfit, noticed Flagman.bg.
Todorov embarrassed everyone at yesterday’s symbolic protest after he appeared dressed head-to-toe in Armani, then flashed himself to every single camera that covered a show.
Including on several national televisions that broadcast live.

“We became a laughing stock because of him. Look at how many people are commenting on us on social media and making fun of us. I don’t know if they are replicas or originals, but it’s insane. There is nothing wrong with branded clothes, but it is unacceptable to go out and protest in this way – the jacket alone costs 400 BGN. So no one will take us seriously or listen to our requests. Most colleagues were either in uniform or in modest clothing,” one of the guards who participated in yesterday’s protest told Flagman.bg.
Otherwise, yesterday the workers in the prisons protested because of the working regime. They did not like the abolition of 24-hour shifts and thought that 12-hour shifts created serious “holes” in the schedule.
The union leader from Sofia Yasen Todorov is one of the usual speakers on this topic. Up to this point, he had raised questions about low wages. The rewards the supervisors are between 1,300 and 1,500 BGN.
But not particularly good salaries apparently do not repel candidates for supervisors.
According to Deputy Minister of Justice Maria Pavlova 50 people each fought for one vacancy in a competition. A few days ago, she explained to a capital newspaper that the 24-hour shifts were abolished because they were illegal. Besides, after one such shift, there were big breaks – 4 days each, during which the whole environment changed. And since September, they added 150 BGN for food per month to the wages of the guards
