Jeon, a 31-year-old Seoul subway employee, was arrested on the 16th for the murder of a worker in her 20s in a women’s restroom at Sindang station on line 2 of the Seoul subway.
Kim Se-yong, chief judge in charge of the Seoul Central District Court’s warrant, issued a warrant saying, “There is a risk of destroying evidence and fleeing” after questioning the suspect prior to his arrest.
Jeon was arrested on the 14th of this month at 9:00 pm on charges of persecuting the victim at Sindang station and killing him with a knife.
The victim was taken to the hospital but died.
At the time of the victim’s first complaint in October last year, police asked for an arrest warrant for Jeon, but the court rejected it.
That day, Jeon appeared in court in a sky-blue top, black shorts and slippers, with tousled hair and a bandage on his left hand.
After reviewing the warrant, which lasted about 27 minutes from 3:00 pm, he said, “I’m sorry” to the reporter’s question, “Do you have something to say to the victim?”
“What was the reason for the crime?”
When asked if there was anything else to say to the victim other than apologizing to the victim, he replied briefly, “Yes, I’m really sorry.”
Previously, Seoul’s Seobu Police Station received complaints from victims in October last year and January this year on charges of violating the Sexual Violence Punishment Act and the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, respectively. stalking, and reported that the allegations were acknowledged and sent Chun to prosecution in March of this year.
While on trial without detention, Jeon committed the crime one day before the trial’s first sentence.
The police are considering applying a charge of retaliation to Chun.
The Suspect Identity Disclosure Committee will also be held soon to decide whether or not to disclose the identity of the suspect.
