Since the beginning of Russia’s repeated invasion of Ukraine, around 7,000 Ukrainian soldiers have gone missing, according to official data.

Among the missing are soldiers, members of the national guard and border guards, as well as intelligence officers, Oleh Kotenko, Ukraine’s commissioner for missing persons, announced on television on Monday.

Most of the missing servicemen are believed to be in Russian captivity.

The army alone has registered about 2,000 soldiers as missing.

Russia claims to have captured more than 6,000 Ukrainians.

The numbers given by neither Ukraine nor Russia cannot be independently confirmed.
