Whether in the big city or in the countryside: dealing drugs is nowhere a casual job. The thriller drama “Fear The Viper”, which is about to start in the home theater and appears authentic and intense in the trailer, takes us into the darkest province.
Fear The Viper tells the story of Kip (Josh Hartnett), Josie (Margarita Levieva) and Booth Conley (Owen Teague). The trio lives in an area in the US state of Ohio that has been particularly hard hit by the economic crisis. Since the death of their parents, the siblings have been selling drugs, maybe one day to get out of there. But how long can the business with opiates, which is not particularly profitable anyway, go on?
Finally, the local sheriff (Dash Mihok) gets closer and closer to them, a few brutal competitors are trying to take over their business and the neighbors are anything but good on the Conleys due to various addiction-related deaths in recent years. Therefore, Kip believes that it is now time to look for an alternative livelihood. But Josie has other plans. She doesn’t want to stop, she wants to expand …

The main role of the eldest brother Kip takes on here Josh Hartnett. After early leading roles in horror hits such as “Halloween: H 20” and the teen slasher “Faculty – Trau No Teacher” by Robert Rodriguez, the 23-year-old actor advanced with Michael Bay’s “Pearl Harbor” and Ridley Scott’s “Black Hawk” Down “to a blockbuster star.
Although his involvement in big budget projects became less and less common at the end of the 00s, by then he was in with “30 Days Of Night”, “The Black Dahlia”, “Lucky # Slevin” and above all “Sin City” to experience some really worth seeing titles. Recently Hartnett dodged – for example with “Penny Dreadful” or “Paradise Lost” – more often in TV series or in the direction of indie productions. From July 29th, however, he will be back in the cinema with a big movie in Guy Ritchie’s new action hit “Cash Truck”.
In addition to Hartnett, there is another top-class cast in “Fear The Viper”. The remaining Conley siblings are from Margarita Levieva („Revenge“, „The Deuce“) und Owen Teague embodied from the Netflix series “Bloodline” while Dash Mihok (“Ray Donovan”) gives the family chasing sheriff.
Also featured were Chandler Riggs, who became world famous with his eight seasons leading role as Carl Grimes in “The Walking Dead”, “Orange Is The New Black” prison guard Brad William Henke, Valorie Curry (“The Tick”) and Hollywood veteran Bruce Dern (“Nebraska”, “The Hateful 8”) for important parts in front of the camera.
