Between 20:00 and 03:00 on 20-21 January 2024, simultaneous public order and traffic inspections were carried out within the areas of responsibility of Nicosia, Famagusta, Kyrenia Güzelyurt and İskele Police Departments.
in Nicosia Within the scope of the inspections carried out; Entertainment venues, nightclubs and places where the public is densely populated were checked, and a total of 10 people who were found to be residing in the country without a residence permit, although they did not have any legal status, were arrested.
During the inspections carried out in the casinos, a total of 51 people who were prohibited from entering and being present in the casino were identified and legal action was taken against them.
As a result of the inspections carried out by the Traffic Teams, a total of 1,863 drivers were checked and 206 were driving at speeds above the legal speed limit, 13 were driving under the influence of alcohol, 4 were driving without a driving license and without insurance, 215 were driving. While a total of 648 drivers were reported for various traffic crimes, including using a mobile phone while driving, 26 driving without wearing a seat belt, 20 driving without a navigation license, 4 driving without insurance, and 7 not obeying traffic lights, legal proceedings were initiated against them. 38 vehicles were banned from traffic.
in Famagusta Within the scope of the inspections carried out; Entertainment venues, places where alcoholic beverages are sold, markets, coffeehouses and nightclubs were checked, and 4 people who were found to be residing in the country without a residence permit, although they did not have any legal status, were arrested.
During the inspections carried out in the casinos, a total of 14 people who were prohibited from entering or being present in the casino were identified and legal action was taken against them.
As a result of the inspections carried out by the Traffic Teams, a total of 2,890 drivers were checked and 148 were driving at speeds above the legal speed limit, 20 were driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages, 1 was driving without a driving license and without insurance, 46 were driving. A total of 63 vehicle drivers were reported for various traffic crimes, including driving without a navigation license and 4 of them were for driving without a navigation license, and legal proceedings were initiated against them, while 7 vehicles were banned from traffic.
