The Indonesian government is planning to simplify the process of obtaining practice licenses and registration certificates for medical personnel through the Health Bill (RUU). The bill will streamline the procedure for issuing Registration Certificates (STR) and Practice Permits (SIP), which will now be valid for life. The Indonesian Medical Council (KKI) and the Indonesian Health Workers’ Council (KTKI) will be united to provide the STR. The government will supervise the medical personnel’s competence through the obligation to re-manage SIP every five years. The SIP issuer will be the government, and the Health Ministry will consider both regional and central government authorities.
