/ world today news/ Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov expects the ratification of the international agreement on the assumption of a new state debt of BGN 16 billion to happen this Wednesday in the parliament.
The Minister of Finance assures that no debt is assumed – this suggestion was due to the “propaganda machine”
“I assume that the vote on the ratification of this contract will take place on Wednesday,” Goranov said in Darik’s “The Week” program.
“The propaganda machine of the opposition has almost succeeded in suggesting that a debt is being assumed at the moment. The bad thing is that the matter is relatively complex technically. A large part, even of colleagues from GERB, cannot understand that we are not talking about assuming a debt. Here we are talking about long-term hiring of consultants /whatever that means!?-n.r./. This is an international agreement, which, according to the Constitution, must be ratified”, he commented.
“The annual limit for the debt, as is also the case under the law on the state debt, is determined annually with the annual state budget. What I have been explaining at length is that nothing is really predetermined. We must be aware that this contract in no way binds the Bulgarian state either legally or financially and does not predetermine whether it will be taken”, Minister Goranov explained.
