On Monday the family will meet for the first time since Richard Lugner’s funeral – at the notary. oe24 already knows what is in the will!
Next Monday will be a fateful day for Richard Lugner’s widow Simone, daughter Jacqueline, sons Alexander and Andreas, and illegitimate daughter Nadin, who will be represented by a lawyer. Then there will be everyone’s first meeting since Mörtel’s funeral. And it’s about nothing less than the legacy of the master builder. At the so-called “inheritance date”, everyone named in the will must declare whether they will accept the inheritance.

And it is precisely this legacy that is quite explosive. This is not about the foundation in which Lugner City is anchored, but rather about Richard Lugner’s private assets and possessions. This includes cash values, securities, jewelry and any real estate. The value of the estate cannot yet be quantified because the statement of assets has not yet been completed. Since the fronts between widow Simone and Jacqueline Lugner are becoming more and more hardened, the recently terminated from Lugner City has now brought in Florian Höllwarth, a renowned lawyer at her side. “I assume that everyone else included in the will will also come to the appointment with their lawyer on Monday,” says Simone, describing her reasons in a talk with oe24.

Even if the amount of the inheritance cannot yet be quantified, the inheritance shares are precisely regulated. Each of the five family members included in the will already has a copy of the will. As Austria learned from those around Lugner City, Simone will receive the lion’s share. Around a third of Richard Lugner’s fortune goes to his widow. “I can neither confirm nor deny that at this point,” explains Simone. The remaining inheritance is to be divided between Mörtel’s four children. Stocks, real estate and – according to insiders – Jacqueline’s Lugner Kino and Garagen GmbH should also be part of the will. In any case, the two companies are not anchored in the Lugner Foundation. It’s quite possible that these will go directly to Jacqueline, who has been running them for years anyway.

Simone is expected to receive her inheritance “conditionally”. This means that if Richard Lugner’s debts outweigh them, in the worst case scenario, she will come away empty-handed. In the event of an “unconditional” inheritance, she would also assume liability for any debts. All other heirs will probably also decide like Simone. It’s a bad time for Lugner’s widow. Not only was she laid off just six weeks after her husband’s death, but new bills accrue almost every day.

In Lugner City, Simone is said to have received a gross salary of 8,000 euros per month as a manager. But that will also be history on November 15th, her last day as an employee at the shopping center.
During his lifetime, it was always important to Richard Lugner to have provided for his family. It is therefore to be hoped that all beneficiaries will also be protected for the future.
