“Simona Kossak” coming soon to cinemas. Animals love her [ZWIASTUN]

“Simona Kossak” coming soon to cinemas. There’s already a trailer

“Simona Kossak” in cinemas from November 22, and in September the title will compete for the Golden Lions at the 49th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia.

“I would like people to experience the beauty that the wilderness has to offer during the screening. I hope that this film will make us more sensitive to the wonderful relationships we can create with animals and nature. I would also like it to be heard that despite everything that happens in our lives, we can always follow our own hearts and do what we want. Feel free and fight for our reasons, which are right. Take care of our smaller brothers,” says Sandra Drzymalska about the film.

“Our film of course touches on the subject of environmental protection, tells about the causes that Simona stood up for, but it is not only aimed at ecology enthusiasts. It is a film about the struggle of an individual, about a strong woman with a strong character. About a man who distinguished himself in our culture and consciousness,” adds Jakub Gierszał, who plays Simona Kossak’s partner, Leszek Wilczek.

The first official trailer for the production is now available:

Simona Kossak. Information

Simona Kossak, daughter of the painter Jerzy Kossak and granddaughter of Wojciech, deprived of the talent that has defined her family for generations, grows up without experiencing the warmth of a despotic mother. When, after her studies, she leaves everything – her home, tradition, social conventions – and takes up a position as a scientist in Białowieża, she begins life on her own terms.. She settles in the middle of the forest, in a house without electricity or running water, surrounded by wild nature. There, in a magical wilderness, she meets photographer Lech Wilczek, with whom she shares passions – love for nature and… need for freedomi. Their unusual relationship defies all conventions. However, Simona’s ideas about the work of a naturalist and the position of a young woman in a world dominated by men are painfully verified. She must defend not only her ideals, but also the world of plants and animals.

Adrian Panek is responsible for the direction and screenplay of the film. In the film, in addition to Sandra Drzymalska and Jakub Gierszał, we will see Agata Kulesza, Borys Szyc, Olga Bołądź, Marianna Zydek, Marta Stalmierska, Dariusz Chajdecki, Robert Gonera, Tomasz Sapryk and Nika Wichłacz.
