MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — Simona Halep will return to action this month at the Miami Open after winning her appeal of her doping suspension, which reduced her punishment from four years to nine months.

He received a wild-card invitation to the main draw of the tournament at the Miami Dolphins stadium grounds of the NFL. The women’s draw will begin on March 19.
The 32-year-old Romanian will be able to resume her tennis career thanks to the decision in her favor by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, announced on Tuesday.
Halep tested positive for a banned substance during the 2022 US Open and has not participated in the WTA tour since. The tennis player argued before the CAS that she was exposed to the substance due to a contaminated supplement.
Although the three-judge panel found that Halep had “a certain level of fault or negligence” for failing to exercise “sufficient care” when using the supplement, it indicated that she “did not have any significant fault or negligence.” The decision also clarified that “her violation of anti-doping rules was not intentional.”
Halep won Wimbledon in 2019 by beating Serena Williams in the final and the 2018 French Open by beating Sloane Stephens in the final.
