Simona Halep received negative news regarding her doping case, which caused her to miss all the Grand Slam tournaments that took place this year: “I learned today that the decision in my case, which was expected this week, will be further delayed.
It’s terribly disappointing, because I always said that all I asked for was to be judged. It’s hard to explain the emotional toll all of these delays have had and continue to have on me,” Halep wrote on Instagram.

The independent tribunal which must render its verdict on the doping case of Simona Halep is taking its time.
Simona spoke of the incessant delays several months ago: “I was not allowed to participate in a tournament for eight months. I know now that I will have missed the Australian Open, Roland Garros and Wimbledon.
Not to mention that I will have lost all my points and my ranking. Not only are they killing my reputation, but also killing me as a player and as an athlete. This lack of respect for the rules by the ITF (ITIA) regarding the fast hearing I am entitled to, is so disrespectful to me that I have no words,” Halep said in late May.

If Halep was wrong (even in good faith), she must pay, but she must at least know what she did, how much she must pay and how it will turn out for her! In this way the ITIA takes away the dignity of an athlete who has written important pages in recent tennis, who has been the undisputed star of the last ten years on the WTA circuit. She deserves better.
