- What advice would you give to the next generation? A disjointed path at the start of your career is rarely a mistake in the medium and long term – quite the contrary.
- What is the best hidden treasure when it comes to work tools? The 20-20-20 rule: a 20-second break, every 20 minutes, looking at least 20 feet away (professional training required).
- What is the biggest risk you have taken? Leaving a position without having found another (a great risk in the end)!

Simon Parent has been working in the communications and marketing field for nearly 30 years. He has a Bachelor’s degree in business administration from HÉC Montréal and holds a master’s degree in communications with a marketing specialization from the same university network.
He began his career in the agency world, in consulting services, both in public relations and advertising before making the jump to the advertising side: Bell, Rogers, Videotron, Société Radio-Canada, VIA Rail Canada and, since 2021 , New Look. During the first years – and still today of course – he learned a lot from his mentor, Sylvie Charette, boss and inspiring friend. During his career, he touched almost everything! Public relations, sponsorships, interactive and digital services, branding, advertising, marketing and sponsorships.
Contemporary art inhabits Simon Parent, who has been collecting for around fifteen years and he combines his passion with his community commitment. He has chaired the journal’s Board of Directors for more than 10 years. Life of the arts and sits on that of the Grantham Foundation for Art and the Environment. If he had more time, he would teach more in the Department of Communication at the University of Montreal. Over the years, he has found great value in introducing students to the business world.
