As a reminder, the driver from Montmorillon was the victim of a violent accident during free practice for the 9th round of IndyCar, the North American single-seater championship. His car suffered a brake failure and rolled over at 290 km/h.
Although he escaped without apparent physical damage, he has since not been authorized to run in competition by the medical profession.
He is suffering from the consequences of a concussion and will not be at the start of the 2024 IndyCar exercise next March. A first since 2012, date of its first full season in the championship.

Simon Pagenaud is 39 years old. He has 14 IndyCar victories, including the legendary Indianapolis 500 in 2019, and 12 pole positions. He won the championship in 2016. Le Poitevin has also distinguished himself in endurance, including 4 participations in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and a 2nd place with Peugeot in 2011.
