Simon Keizer will perform again for the first time since Nick & Simon’s farewell concerts. The Volendam singer has a role in the musical Christmas show Santa Claus is coming to town on December 23 and 24 in the Amsterdam Ziggo Dome.
“In any case, it will be a refreshing performance,” says the 39-year-old singer. “I am really looking forward to taking part in this great Christmas spectacle. I really think Christmas is a family celebration and that fits perfectly with the show Santa Claus is coming to town.”
“I can’t reveal exactly what I’m going to do yet,” he continues. “But it’s something I haven’t done before. It will be very surprising.” Keizer will sing at least some Christmas hits with the North Pole Orchestra during the shows.
In addition to Keizer, Jelka van Houten, Soy Kroon, Buddy Vedder and Emma Heesters can be seen in the family show. Frank Lammers plays the role of Santa Claus, whose story is told in the show.
In August 2022, Keizer and forty-year-old Nick Schilder announced that they would stop as a musical duo. After seventeen years of working together, the two Volendam residents wanted more room for “individual creativity”. Schilder released his first single as a solo artist in May.
