This year, Simno’s kermošius, which invites hundreds of residents and guests of the region, is special. This is the jubilee – the 25th – celebration taking place in Simno’s town square.
“Stories are alive as long as they travel by word of mouth. From generation to generation. Traditions are alive as long as we nurture them and inspire others by our example. Simno Kermoši is already 25 years old! And this is the credit of all of you – communities, folk artists, artisans, musicians, traders and buyers. On this occasion, let spring bloom not only outside, but also in your eyes, smiles and hearts,” Mayor Rasa Vitkauskienė greeted the gathered participants of the celebration.
At the fair, guests could enjoy not only the festive atmosphere, but also interesting entertainment: try their luck in the lottery, participate in witty contests, learn Lithuanian folk dances, watch street performances. You can also buy various handmade products and taste traditional Lithuanian flavors.
The bands “Simnyčia”, “Punelė”, “Temela” (Balbieriškis), the groups “Bent”, “Tuoj” created a good mood right here. The well-known songs of the band “Pikaso” invited those gathered to dance.
Good music and sincere smiles of those gathered turned Simno’s kermošiai into an event full of fun, traditions and Lithuanian spirit.
