Simnos Kaziuk’s kermoši had everything: from fun songs to pig “shoulders”

The traditional 25th Simnos Kaziuks kermošius, which took place last Saturday, once again boasted great weather, a large number of people, exclusive goods, fun songs and, of course, various I’m sorry.

After arriving to look around and listen to folk music bands and performers, it was once again fun to meet people from different parts of the world and talk to them.

“Good day, good day, I’m not a gentleman, I’m just a simple representative of Simnos, who observes and records the flow of visitors here every year,” said long-bearded Vytautas Stanevičius, known to everyone as SanSimnos, cheerfully when he met at the entrance to the event. This time, putting on a red hat borrowed from the tent of representatives of the Alytus vocational training center, the man continued to wittily say: “I’m so weird, maybe not a red top, like a red cap. And I would ask you not to privatize the color red, just like rainbows, this can’t be done either. After all, red is the color of everyone: blood, heart!” And after reprimanding that maybe it is meant for women too, the latter just sighed enigmatically: “Oh, shelmis, oh, you touched a sore spot.”

At the fair, which started at eleven o’clock, it was easier to pass between the merchants’ tents only at the beginning, later it became difficult to break up and take a closer look at who is selling what. And here there was everything: wood and metal products brought by craftsmen, chefs sizzling sausages and smoking fish on the spot. You don’t even know what’s more important, filling your stomach or buying beauty products for your home.

“Oh, how many acquaintances I meet here, and to be honest, that’s why I came here!” – said the man who was seen at events for the first time. “We don’t go to holidays any more, somehow that old tradition has faded, so even though here is a chance to see everyone.”

And yet, as soon as the folk music bands “Punelė”, “Simnyčia” and “Temela” started performing, it seems that everyone started looking for not only goods, but also fun. And it was best offered by the old girls of Alovė with their fathers: “Daniel, show me on all the screens to the whole world and announce that I really want to get married”, – a big-breasted girl from Alovė dressed in a white shirt announced loudly with a big smile. However, the kind-hearted mother preferred to offer another daughter, who had returned from abroad, and was constantly pampering her with money. But the translated home villager was categorical to everyone, even the mother. “Don’t even try, I’ll see who brings you water, you’ll be sick.”

After such witty meetings, you don’t even know where it’s more fun, whether there, at the stage, or inside the market, where the fun of life is boiling.

“Well, you see, as much pork shoulder as I buy, I can feed you too!” – judo coach Zenonas Vencevičius said judiciously, showing a coat of drippings. And when asked what they can give, they answered in an old-fashioned and manly way: “It’s only a shake from tea, maybe they’ll stand up from coffee, but from bacon, they’ll be like all other people!”

Rimantas Liegus, a native of Alytus region, was happy about the great weather and people’s laziness to visit here. “It’s just a good heart to celebrate spring,” and he immediately added about campaigning politicians, “oh, look how many presidents are already walking here!”

If it was difficult to find a way through the traffic jams, it’s hard to imagine how a couple of Vilnius footmen managed to do it, and they weren’t afraid.

“And we’ve come here to spread great spirits to everyone,” said a beautiful woman with a gracefully puffed-up figure, jumping from a height of about 4 meters.

The hat-wearing Simno Algucis didn’t say much: “The event is wonderful, the people are wonderful, what more do you need?” Only the storks are missing!”

Well, Jūratė Overaitytė-Jakubavičienė, who worked for 24 years as a family doctor at the Simno dispensary and knows everyone here very well, sent her wishes to everyone: “A beautiful spring, beautiful love, beautiful moments, and most importantly – good health!”

After the performances of the bands, everyone could enjoy the songs performed by the groups “Pikaso”, “Bent” and “Tuoj” at the Simno kermoši. Summary: we can already safely say that spring has sprung!
