Lagging behind in the East, Atlanta, last conf’ finalist, is described as “very aggressive” on the transfer market (they have already been loaned interest for Ben Simmons and Jerami Grant) and according to Chris Kirschner (The Athletic), the team would also have an eye on Marcus Smart (Boston Celtics) et C.J. McCollum (Portland Trail Blazers).
Both are experienced and either would bring a nice upgrade to the Hawks backline, led by Bring Young. McCollum is averaging 20.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game this season. Smart, with a more defensive profile, brings him 11.3 points, 4 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game. Currently the starting position 2 of the Hawks is De’Andre Hunter.
He was absent for a good part of the season due to injury but has signed some very good performances since his return.
