Similar Applications TikTok Made by Facebook Finally Closed

Merdeka.com – Facebook just closed Lasso, which is a TikTok-style short video application released in 2018.

Launching The Verge, this was revealed from an application notification sent to each Lasso user. It was mentioned in the notification that Lasso can no longer be used after the 10th of July, and it is recommended to download the video that you want to save.

It is predicted that Facebook turns off Lasso because it wants to focus on its new application, namely Reels on Instagram. Reels itself is a video editing tool that allows users to record and edit videos in the style of TikTok, and can be posted on Story.

This feature appeared in Brazil last year, and has only expanded to France and Germany. It is likely that a global release will come this year.

Lasso itself is only available in certain markets globally. Besides of course in the US, Lasso is only available in Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Panama, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Ecuador, and Uruguay.

Lasso was not the only Facebook service that was closed. Previously, Facebook will also turn off its application called Hobbi. This is a Pinterest-like application designed to help users document personal projects. [idc]
