The police plan to apply SIM C classification starting in August 2021. Later, SIM C will be divided into 3 types, namely first for motorcycle drivers with engine capacities up to 250cc, second for motorcycles above 250cc to 500cc, and third SIM C for motorcycles above 500cc or electric motorcycles. Then how much does the SIM C 3 type cost?
Head of Driver Standards for the Ditregident Korlantas Polri AKBP, Arief Budiman, said that the cost of making the three types of SIM C is the same, according to the current regulations. This is contained in Government Regulation Number 60 of 2016 concerning Types and Tariffs on Types of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) Applicable to the Indonesian National Police.
“The cost of making PNBP is all the same,” said Arief.
The cost of making SIM C is divided into three types:
- SIM C Rp 100.000
- SIM C1 Rp 100.000
- SIM C2 Rp 100.000
SIM Renewal Fee (does not include medical examination fees and insurance)
- SIM C Rp 75.000
- CI SIM Rp 75,000 VND
- SIM CII Rp 75,000
And it must also be noted, every SIM applicant who wants to upgrade class must also pay a fee for issuing a new SIM. “Increasing the SIM class is subject to a new SIM PNBP fee,” Arief continued.
There is no difference in tariffs, but to upgrade the SIM class, it is made in stages. Another thing that needs to be considered is that each SIM owner must first have a SIM under it for a period of one year.
- To apply for promotion to CI, have a C SIM that has been in use for 12 months since it was issued
- To be able to have a CII SIM, the CI SIM owned has been used for 12 months since the CI SIM was issued.
For information, the provisions for classifying SIM C are contained in Police Regulation (Perpol) Number 5 of 2021 concerning Issuance and Marking of a SIM, which was promulgated on February 19, 2021. The regulation revoked the Regulation of the Head of the Indonesian National Police Number 9 of 2012 concerning Driver’s Permits.
