After the success of the preview with Massimo Lopez and Tullio Solenghi, tonight (Tuesday) at 9pm the Alfieri Theater Season will see the well-known actor Silvio Orlando on stage with “Ciarlatani”, taken from “Los farsantes” by the Spanish playwright Pablo Remón, who also takes care of the direction.
With him on stage Francesca Botti, Francesco Brandi and Blu Yoshimi.
The show
“Ciarlatani” tells the story of two characters linked to the world of cinema and theatre. Anna Velasco is an actress whose career is stalling. After acting in small productions of classical works, he works as a pilates teacher and on weekends does children’s theater. Between television soap operas and alternative shows, Anna is looking for the great character who will finally make her triumph. Diego Fontana is a successful director of commercial films who is embarking on a major production: a series to be shot all over the world, with international stars. An accident, however, will lead him to face a personal crisis and rethink his career. These two characters are connected by the figure of Anna’s father, Eusebio Velasco, a director who disappeared and was isolated from the world.
A comedy in which the four actors travel through dozens of characters, spaces and times. At the center is satire on the world of theater and audiovisual, but also a reflection on success, failure and the roles that are played inside and outside of fiction.
Silvio Orlando
Silvio Orlando is one of the most representative faces of contemporary Italian arthouse cinema. Over the course of his career – which has seen him involved in the theatre, cinema, directed by directors of the caliber of Gabriele Salvatores, and on television – he has obtained numerous awards, including the Volpi Cup for best male interpretation and the Pasinetti Prize for best actor at the 65th Venice International Film Festival for “Giovanna’s Dad”. Among the other awards obtained, three David di Donatello (“Aprile”, “The caiman”, “Ariaferma”) and three Nastri d’argento (“I prefer the sound of the sea”, “The caiman”, “The hidden child”) .
