Actually, the two don’t like to talk about their relationship in public, especially Silvio Heinevetter. The 36-year-old has now made an exception and spoke about Simone Thomalla, the mutual relationship – and the initially difficult relationship with Sophia Thomalla in the interview format “My story – the life of …” on the pay-TV channel Sky.
“Before that, Sophia Thomalla didn’t want to share her mom”
Simone Thomalla’s daughter is said not to have been so taken with her quasi-stepfather at first. The handball goalkeeper recalls that it was really exhausting: “She didn’t want to go away, she kept asking questions, like in an interrogation.” But Heinevetter smiles and admits: “That was also very sweet. At some point she gave in, before she didn’t want to share her mom.”
In the show, Sophia Thomalla herself is confronted with the “allegations”. When Heinevetter calls the 31-year-old, she admits: “That can be. That is perhaps my protective instinct, that I wanted to protect my mother from a bad man. I didn’t trust him at the beginning and that’s why I was always there.”
Photos shared on Instagram regularly prove that this mistrust is long gone. The two are now very close. Sophia Thomalla once described Heinevetter with a wink as “Vati Heine”. Her biological father is André Vetters, an actor who is mainly active in the theater, now 61 years old and thus even five years older than Simone Thomalla.

About the 56-year-old, Silvio Heinevetter says in the TV format: “She’s a celebrity in Germany and I’m just an athlete. I don’t take myself too seriously, I don’t want that either. I don’t want to be a friend either be perceived by ‘. ” The Bundesliga player still considers a wedding to be unnecessary, as he makes clear in the conversation: “If you are happy and love each other, it has nothing to do with whether you are married or not!”
And also the age difference between the “celebrity”, as he calls his partner, and him is no longer an issue for him. Over the 20 years of difference he says today: “In the beginning it really bothered me, but now I really don’t care.”
