The memory of Silvina Luna is increasingly present. A year after the model’s death, the media began to dedicate some reports to her and in the last few hours the testimony of her closest confidant was surprising: Christian Basoalto, her driver and friend.
Although he had kept a low profile until now, Basoalto did not hesitate to speak openly about what it was like to accompany the artist in the last days of her life. In addition, he brought up some issues and pointed to some famous people.
At the beginning of the conversation, Basoalto said that he began taking Luna to undergo various tests at the request of Ezequiel, the model’s brother.
“I would go buy her medicine, go to the bank, things that helped her in her daily life. When she started going to the Italian Hospital a lot because her calcium levels were going up and I didn’t want Ezequiel to find out, he would call me and maybe she would have to stay in the hospital and I would stay with her,” she told Carlos Monti on the air of Entrometidos (Net TV).
His bond with the artist became very strong at that stage. He even moved to be close to her when she needed it.
“At the end, she had hurt her leg and we had to go to the Italian in a wheelchair. She didn’t have any privileges because she had to wait to be called, and even though she wanted to hide, when her name was called, people started looking at her, so I tried to take care of her,” she recalled.
The interviewee recalled that Luna was very attached to the spiritual. “At times when she was intubated, but conscious, I brought her a virgin that the Golden Triplets sent her,” he indicated.
WHAT SILVINA LUNA’S CONFIDENT SAID
In one of the most powerful passages of the conversation, Christian Basoalto could not avoid getting into a controversial topic. And, although he tried not to name names, he exposed some attitudes that the show business figures who surrounded Silvina Luna had.
“I have friends that she inherited from me and they call me and we are in contact, but there were a couple of people who went to see her and when they left they went to the channels,” he began by saying.
Sensing that he was referring to two former colleagues that the model had on Big Brother (Telefe), Monti asked: “A well-known couple?” “And I said that it wasn’t good because they were going to talk about his physical deterioration,” he replied, implying that the journalist was right.
She then specified exactly what attitude the figures had that bothered her: “You will notice that when we said goodbye to her, they were not there, but they appeared five minutes before the body left and that hurt me a lot because they knew they were offside. It hurt me a lot because she loved them and that affected me.”
On the other hand, Christian broke down with emotion when he assured that Silvina left “in peace.” “It was with music, mantras, with friends holding her hands and I approached her and whispered in her ear ‘I can’t take you on this trip.’ And she left, peacefully, but she didn’t deserve so many months of suffering,” he described.
