Syrian Olympic player Hind Zaza added a new medal to her collection by winning an under-15 silver at the Jezzine International Table Tennis Championships held in Lebanon.
Up-and-coming Ebaa Hallaq also participated in the tournament alongside Zaza in the Syrian national team.
The two players managed to progress through the group stage in Under-13 competition, eliminating Ibaa Hallaq from the round of 16, while Hind Zaza qualified for the quarter-finals.
141 male and female players representing 18 countries participate in the Jezzine International Championship: Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, Oman, Qatar, India, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Iran, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Cyprus and Puerto Rico.
The competitions include the various categories under 19, 17, 15, 16 and 11 years old, for young men and women.
The Lebanese Table Tennis Federation organizes the championship under the supervision of the International Federation of the Game and helps add ranking points for the participating players.
Interestingly, Hind Zaza won first place in the Egyptian international championship last month and finished eighth in the world for the U-15 category.
Hind Zaza is the youngest player at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics.
