Manchester City star Bernardo Silva feels that his team suffered from a decision he described as “very bad” during the Tottenham match, but he also stressed that he and his teammates need to do their job better.
Manchester City players, especially Erling Haaland, expressed their extreme anger when the referee deprived them of a promising opportunity in the last minutes of the match, which ended in a dramatic 3-3 draw on Sunday evening, by calling the Norwegian striker a violation instead of allowing the game to continue.
Haaland continued to express his anger while leaving the field after the final whistle, and went so far as to criticize Huber on social media, while his colleague Bernardo Silva was less severe in expressing his opinion, and said: “It was a bad decision by the referee, and everyone saw what happened, but in the end.” “We are all human beings.”
The Portuguese international player added: “Perhaps the referee is the first person to know that it is a very bad decision because he deprived Grealish of complete isolation with the goalkeeper and he could have given us the three points.”
He added: “It is a difficult decision to accept, but in the end it happened, and this happens in football, and sometimes all of us make mistakes.” Manchester City fell to third place with this third draw in a row before an away match against Aston Villa on Wednesday evening.
Silva continued: “We conceded late goals against Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham, and in the end we lost seven points. We could have topped the table by four points if we did our job well, which is killing the match or at least not conceding goals in the last minutes. Matches at this level, the small details make the difference.”
