In mid-September, a “Silent Open-Air Cinema” will take place in the Tyrol Castle State Museum. Viewers can enjoy the films with adjustable headphones.

On September 13th, 14th and 15th, a “Silent Open-Air Cinema” will take place in the outer bailey of the Tyrol Castle State Museum. Until September 1st, the public can select films that can then be watched with headphones under the starry sky on the weekend in mid-September.

In this case, “silent” means that viewers can enjoy the films with adjustable headphones with individual language selection (German + Italian) and individually adjustable volume in optimal sound quality in front of a special backdrop. By using headphones, there are no disturbing background noises for viewers and no noise pollution for nature and the environment. The films start at 7.30 p.m., admission is from 6 p.m. Tickets (15 euros, reduced 10 euros) can be purchased from 6 p.m. on the day at the box office or reserved in advance (from September 1st) at.

The audience can look forward to film highlights of a special kind, which can be selected in August on the castle’s website under the link; on September 1st, the three films chosen by the audience will be announced. The selection includes: The Name of the Rose (1986), Dracula (2000), Chocolat (2000), Corsage – Sissi as close as never before (2022), Northmen – A Viking Saga (2014), Excalibur (1981), The Lord of the Rings 1 (2001), Dead Poets Society (1989) and Beauty and the Beast (2017).

If you take part in the film voting, you can, with a bit of luck, win two free tickets for one of the three evenings. The outdoor bar is open before and after the films.

Tirol Castle can be reached either on foot from the car park in the village centre in around 20 minutes or with a free shuttle bus from the village centre from 6.30 p.m.; the shuttle bus also runs after the film. In case of bad weather, the event will take place the following weekend (20-22 September 2024).
