Lectures: 150
On the eve of 8M, this morning women walked along the Alameda towards the London 38 Memory site carrying an immense red fabric, made for several months by different groups of weavers and activists.
The action is part of a larger event – “Sangre de mi sangre”, created in Guadalajara Mexico in 2018 – a participatory artistic action that through textiles denounces violence against women, symbolizes their absences, and creates bonds of solidarity.
In front of London 38, cloths were displayed that covered the front like a large bloodstain and the participants sat in silence for 5 minutes, with the cloth over their heads, after which they called out the names of the detained and disappeared women who passed by. for the place in dictatorship.
The activity was organized by the Memory and Human Rights Program of the Alberto Hurtado University, and will continue tomorrow during the 8M march.
