The tour is an initiative of student association Circumflex, of which Groen was a member until her disappearance, and Stichting De Gouden Tip, which was founded last month by Peter R. de Vries. The initiators let it be known that Adrie and Corrie Groen, Tanja’s parents, support the initiative. The silent tour starts at 7 p.m. on the Markt in Maastricht and ends at the Vrijthof, reports 1Limburg.
The student association says it is important to support the search for the missing student. “Every year we reflect on her disappearance and we think of Tanja, but also of her family and friends, who have had to live in uncertainty since that day in August 1993,” the association writes. “This year we are going to commemorate her in a special way.”
