One of the most talked about aspects of the Silent Hill 2 remake reveal trailer is the audio aspect, with many players criticizing the gun effects as they lack adequate feedback when shooting.
Arkadius Reikowski, one of the Blooper Team developers who handles the soundtrack, chimed in to explain what the problem was, responding to a user on X/Twitter:
“Basically, these things happen when you lower the frequencies of the sound design. It was not up to us. Don’t worry, the gunshot sounds in the game are really powerful.”
In short, the blame for everything will be on those who made the trailer, who did not take this aspect into account.
At the moment, there is a suspicion that Bloober did not have creative control over the video, which Konami entrusted to third parties (it is the Japanese publisher that controls the marketing of the game). So it is possible that the choice to show mostly action scenes was made independently of the instructions of the developers, greatly disappointing fans of the original who expected much more.
