One of the great mysteries of the gaming industry of at least the last year, the prediction of whether or not Konami will really return to the Silent Hill series has never received a definitive answer. The gigantic gaming events have passed and not a single moment has been used up by Konami, leaving a strong sense of pessimism that this popular survival horror franchise will actually return. But suddenly that hope returned when Konami announced a separate showcase just to talk about Silent Hill. A showcase that ends satisfactorily.
The mystery has finally been solved with the good news, that Konami is actually working on a remake project for Silent Hill 2. I’m not kidding, veteran horror developer – Bloober Team, famous for The Medium and Layers of Fear series, is reliable to handle this game. The first trailer released shows a reenactment and modernization of various iconic locations and moments from the original series, which now also involves the performance capture process on it. Silent Hill 2 Remake will also definitely use an over-the-shoulder camera point of view instead of being fixed like the previous series.
Silent Hill 2 Remake itself is expected to be released for Playstation 5 and PC, but still without a defined release window. What do you think? Looks interesting?
