Silent Hill 2 Remake Faces Controversy as Metacritic Score Hits 87 Amid Troll Backlash

The remake of Silent Hill 2 currently has a score of 87 Metacritic. Very high, although not everyone is satisfied with that. On the online encyclopedia Wikipedia, some of them have internet trolls the score was greatly reduced.

The numbers may have been lowered several times this past weekend, ultimately causing Wikipedia to temporarily suspend changes to the Silent Hill 2 remake webpage. As you know, Wikipedia is an open source encyclopedia, which makes it easy to modify the information. At the time of writing, everything seemed to be fine again.

Through Reddit a screenshot was posted with all the low scores entered in Silent Hill 2. Maybe they were boycotting the game. Why is Silent Hill 2 having such a hard time? Maybe because developer Bloober Team changed the clothes and facial features of some female characters.

In addition, the remake also received a lot of criticism as the original version is considered a cult classic. So the changes were probably the work of purists, who would rather lose the remake than get rich.

However, the review scores don’t lie. Silent Hill 2 has become a particularly strong game. Developer Team Bloober seems to have succeeded in their goal of doing justice to the original release.
