Tottenham Hotspur not sure that a landslide score can come back in the match against Manchester United. This time the Spurs anticipate a more intense duel.
Tottenham Hotspur won 6-1 over Manchester United at Old Trafford last October, in the first meeting at Premier League this season. Left first, The Lilywhites then replied through two goals from Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, as well as one goal from Tanguy Ndombele and Serge Aurier.
Anthony Martial’s red card in the 28th minute must be admitted wide open the way for Tottenham to win in such a landslide. The red card itself was present when Tottenham led 2-1.
MU’s performance at that time was sharply highlighted, including by legends such as Gary Neville and Patrice Evra. But the Tottenham manager, who also coached MU, Jose Mourinho believe the results do not reflect reality.
The Portuguese man believes that Manchester United and Tottenham are on more or less the same level and on an ideal day, the match will be tight.
“I think the 6-1 score does not reflect reality, this crazy score can sometimes happen between two big clubs. But it happened in an isolated way,” said Jose Mourinho to Sky Sports.
“I tend to have more confidence in the two previous games between us against United: we lost 2-1 at Old Trafford on penalties and we drew 1-1 at home last season, also due to penalties.”
“For me, this reflects the reality more, we are not far from each other so it will be a difficult and tight match for both teams,” he continued.
