1. OTP

You need to be alert if you suddenly get a message containing a six-digit One Time Password (OTP) code via message to your cell phone number. Because the OTP is sent when someone wants to log into a WhatsApp account. Please remember not to give the code to anyone.

2. Exit WhatsApp

Another feature is that it automatically exits WhatsApp. This could be an indication of another device trying to log into your WhatsApp account. You can find out which other devices are logged into WhatsApp by pressing the three dots icon and selecting WhatsApp Web.

3. Message Read

You should also be alert if you find that messages are being read automatically. It could be that someone unknown has logged into your WhatsApp account.

4. Message Sent Alone

Just like before, messages that are suddenly sent by themselves are said to be a sign that another party has tapped the account.

How to Prevent WhatsApp from Being Tapped

You can prevent being a victim of eavesdropping by activating the two-step verification security feature. This feature requires a PIN set by the user to be able to enter a WhatsApp account.

Follow these steps to activate this security feature

-Click the three dots icon on the WhatsApp application

-Select Settings

-Enter Account settings

-Pilih Two-step verification

-WhatsApp will ask to activate two-step verification with a PIN

-Click Enable to activate the feature

-Create a PIN, enter six digits as desired

-Next you will be asked to enter the email address connected to the account. This is for if one day you want to change your PIN
