Damar Hamlin he showed signs of improvement but remains in critical condition in intensive care after suffering cardiac arrest during the Buffalo Bills Monday Night Football game, according to a statement released by Buffalo on Wednesday.

“Damar remains in critical condition in ICU with signs of improvement seen yesterday and overnight,” Bills tweeted. “He is expected to remain in intensive care while his health care team continues to monitor and treat him.”

An earlier Tuesday afternoon update from Bills explained that Hamlin spent the night in the intensive care unit at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and thanked fans for their continued support. Hamlin’s family also released a statement saying they “will release updates as soon as they have them.”
Hamlin’s friend disagrees with his uncle
Jordon Rooney, a friend and marketing rep of Hamlin’s, told ESPN Wednesday morning that the 24-year-old is still in intensive care and sedated. Rooney also clarified that Hamlin was only revived once on Monday night. Hamlin’s uncle told CNN on Tuesday that Hamlin had to be revived twice — once in the field and once in the hospital — when his heart stopped.
“There’s a lot of medical jargon, a lot of things being said, so Damar was only revived once,” Rooney said. He later added that he thought Glenn was “wrong,” telling CNN “his he uncle is incredibly supportive of his nephew. … I think he just wanted to play his part in breaking the good news.”
“Things are moving in a positive direction”
Rooney later told NFL Network that things were “moving in a positive direction.”
Hamlin broke after a tackle against Bengali Wide receiver Tee Higgins together during Monday night’s game. Though he initially got to his feet, the security soon fell to the floor. He was revived on the field and taken to hospital. With coaches and players reeling from the night’s events, the NFL postponed the game approximately one hour after the incident began.
On Tuesday, the league announced that the game will not be rescheduled for this week and that no decision has been made about resuming play.
Hamlin, one player out Pittsburgh as a sophomore, he played in 29 games for the Bills and started 13 in his career.
