Signs of an allergic reaction

Unlike colds or flu, allergy symptoms are always the same. Of course, the type of allergy we suffer from depends a lot, but also how severe it is. Thus, the reaction may be completely different from that of another person.

There are many issues that we need to consider when we are talking about allergic reactions, and these can be identified by certain signals. By recognizing these signs we can stop potential situations that affect our quality of life or at least improve them.

One of the main signs we have of an allergic reaction is hives. Itching and those raised red spots appear on the skin as a result of contact with an allergen. This is due to the phenomenon of eliminating histamine, a chemical that irritates the skin and causes hives. Thus, those red spots or pustules appear that cause itching as a result of allergies. Extreme temperatures or stress are also factors that can cause these hives. It is ideal to consult a specialist.

Wet, itchy eyes are also a common symptom in people who are allergic to animals (especially dog or cat hair) or pollen, because those particles are carried by the air and easily enter the eyes, causing irritation.

Sneezing and itching in the throat are also signs of allergies, but this time to certain foods. Sometimes oral medication can help combat these symptoms.

More serious signs that you have an allergic reaction are swollen tongue and / or lips, swelling of the face or anaphylactic shock. These severe reactions may include swelling of the mucous membranes of the mouth and airways, itching, vomiting, and difficulty breathing.
