On Tatiana’s day, it is customary to clean up the house and wash clothes. Previously, girls always went out into the street to knock dirt and dust out of the rugs early in the morning. In honor of Tatiana’s Day, loaves were often baked in the shape of the sun in order to quickly attract warmth and forget about the frost. The bread was necessarily broken and distributed to everyone in the family. By the appearance of the bread they judged what to expect in the future: beautiful – fortunately, with a bump in the middle – things will go uphill and the year will be successful, cracked – an alarming sign, and burnt bread was treated to birthday people on this day so that everything would be fine for them.
