The South Region invests 78 million euros for Toulon Provence Méditerranée.
For the 450,000 inhabitants of the Toulon Metropolis, the Southern Region is now clearly, operationally and concretely engaged in a very ambitious investment programme. As part of the deployment of the “Our territories first” system voted last February, the South Region wanted to make Toulon Provence Méditerranée the first “Our territories first” pilot territory 2022-2027 for the Var department.
Thus, 78 million euros of regional investments will support 56 interventions divided into the 6 areas of the Climate Plan:
• Soft mobility, such as the High Level Service Bus in Toulon or the multimodal interchange hub in Hyères.
• Renewable energies, such as the production of biogas from purifiers (STEP) in Almanarre,
• Heritage strategy and energy rehabilitation of buildings such as the overall renovation of the Toulon Opera,
• Waste management and recovery, such as the construction of a reuse and recovery center in Pradet,
• Territorial sobriety, such as the urban and landscape project by Mayol in Pipady, in Toulon.
• Ecological transition, conservation of natural heritage and resilience of territories, such as the protection of the Sablettes bay in La Seyne-sur-Mer.
This contract signed today for a period of 5 years will be reviewed every year to readjust programming to reality and to the evolution of local projects. It represents, in total, and all investments combined, €665 million of projects for the Metropolis.
