The price of gold in the local market witnessed a big leap during trading today, Wednesday, compared to its level yesterday, as the gram rose by about 24 pounds, as a result of the rise in the price of the metal globally.
Nagy Farag, head of the Economic Committee in the Gold Traders Division of the Cairo Chamber of Commerce, told Masrawy that the price of a 21-gram gold went up to 720 pounds during today’s trading from 696 pounds yesterday.
The price of a gram of 18 carat gold reached about 617 pounds, the price of a gram of 24 carat gold reached about 823 pounds, and the price of a pound of gold reached 5760 pounds.
According to Bloomberg data, the price of an ounce today witnessed an increase of about $ 56, up by 3.5% compared to the end of trading yesterday, to record $ 1635.8 at eleven in the morning, Cairo time.
