Factors influencing the Syrian pound
The Syrian pound continues to decline against the US dollar in the unofficial (black) parallel market, as the Syrian pound has fallen to its lowest level since the conflict began in 2011, as it lost most of its value on the black market.
This comes amid expectations that the value of the Syrian pound will continue to decline for a longer period, in the absence of a real way out of the severe deterioration of the Syrian economy.
Experts attributed the deterioration in the value of the Syrian currency to dollarization and the supply of foreign currencies, as well as economic sanctions imposed on the Syrian Central Bank, which hinder the movement of exports out of the country.
