The official noted that a day has already passed since this one of the most significant cargo checkpoints was unblocked.
“During this time, the protesters tried to physically impede the movement of traffic, but thanks to the local authorities, stable traffic was restored,” the minister emphasized.
Kubrakov clarified that since yesterday, more than 350 trucks have entered Ukraine, and more than 200 trucks have entered Poland.
“The expected throughput is 1,200 trucks in total in both directions per day. We are working to achieve this figure,” the minister wrote.
What preceded
Yesterday, December 11, the Ministry of Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine announced the unblocking of the Yagotin-Dorogusk checkpoint on the border of Ukraine and Poland from 14:00.
At the same time, the strike participants decided to use a trick and blocked traffic with a truck.
Let us recall that from November 6, Polish carriers began to hold strikes on the border with Ukraine, and they intended to continue such actions with blocking of checkpoints until the beginning of January 2024. As a result of this, three checkpoints on the border with Ukraine were practically blocked – “Yagodin-Dorogusk”, “Krakovets-Korcheva”, “Rava-Russkaya-Khrebnoye”, releasing and admitting freight transport of no more than one truck in one direction per hour.
It was also reported that on November 23, carriers blocked the Medica-Shegini checkpoint. In addition, it was reported that there were intentions to extend the blocking to the Nizhankovichi-Malchowice checkpoint.
