With wide participation of the neighbors, who carried out this gesture of love for neighbor, fundamental in times of pandemic
With an important participation of the community, a new external blood collection was carried out, which was part of the uninterrupted activities carried out throughout the year by the Government of Formosa, through the Ministry of Human Development, the Provincial Hemotherapy Center and the Provincial Safe Blood Program, to encourage voluntary, safe, regular and free blood donation.
It took place in the aforementioned hospital, located in the center west of the province, about 300 km from the capital city. The call to become donors was open to all interested residents who were in a position to donate, and was in charge of the Hemotherapy Service, representative of one of the donation posts within the territory.
Framed by rigorous protocols for the prevention of COVID – 19, the extractions were in charge of biochemists, hemotherapy technicians and other professionals, who work in said service and were addressed to the neighbors “in solidarity, who expressed their willingness to donate and they decided to carry out this action, of high value for many people who need a blood donation to improve their health or to save their lives, ”they commented from the hospital’s management.
It should be noted that the hospital has been carrying out a strong awareness and dissemination to attract donors “not only the usual ones, who regularly come to donate, but also new ones, because we are going through a difficult time, in which the blood stock decreased due to that donations were affected in the context of a pandemic, “they said.
“We are happy and very grateful that the neighbors came to this call, but we must not give up because we have no other way than to donate, to obtain the blood that many are needing. The invitation to donate is still valid. We ask all the people who are healthy and able to donate to please do so ”, they stressed.
They recalled that a sachet of blood can save up to 4 lives, when the vital fluid is divided into blood components. “If we multiply each donor by 3 or 4, we can realize how much good we are doing to the health of our neighbors when we make the decision to become donors,” they assured.
