A memorandum of understanding on the extension of the Industrial Acceleration Zone (ZAI) of Kénitra was signed on Tuesday, December 8, by the Minister of Industry, Trade and the Green and Digital Economy, Mr. Moulay Hafid Elalamy, and the Managing Director of the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion, Mr. Abdellatif Zaghnoun.
Covering an area of approximately 96 ha, located in the municipality of Ameur Saflia (province of Kénitra), this extension will strengthen the reception capacity of the area, which has reached the rate of 94% today.
The ZAI, inaugurated in 2012, has made it possible to establish the Gharb region as a competitive and attractive industrial center for many world-renowned investors. The ecosystem of the PSA group, which has settled there, has been a locomotive attracting around it more than 25 equipment manufacturers in the ZAI. This extension will expand the area intended for PSA suppliers.
Today, the ZAI has 49 companies representing a total investment of more than 20 billion dirhams which has created 36,571 jobs.
This memorandum of understanding will make it possible to define the terms and commitments of the stakeholders, in particular as regards the mobilization of land and the carrying out of the studies necessary for the planning, development, promotion, marketing and management of the new extension of this ZAI.
In this context, MEDZ (subsidiary of CDG) will carry out the studies necessary for this project, including urban planning and technical studies and others of flood protection and environmental impact, as well as the provisional financial study of the project. project.
