This Monday, March 27, the National Primary Commission reported that a format was approved for the collection of signatures in support of candidates who wish to enter the process on their own initiative.
The format will be sent to all civil society organizations and pre-candidates that have expressed to the commission their desire to participate in the aforementioned event.
On the other hand, the National Primary Commission clarified that the 0.5% of voters registered in the Electoral Registry, required for the registration of candidacies, “refers to the possibility of obtaining this support at the national level or, at the least, in twelve federal entities, all in order to promote political participation”.
It also explains that the collection of signatures must meet a set of requirements, which will be available to the public, “in order to ensure that the greatest number of expressions of will or signatures by voters are valid in support of the nomination of the candidates they wish to endorse”.
The entry Approve signature collection format for presidential primary candidates was first published in El Informador Venezuela.
