Unit description
The “Signal, Protocols and Radio Platforms” laboratory (LS2PR) at CEA LETI is responsible for studying advanced wireless systems, as well as their implementation on embedded electronic devices. The laboratory’s research areas cover the design of algorithms at the physical layer level (definition of waveforms and associated signal processing) and associated protocol stacks, optimization and orchestration of resources for communication, calculation and control in networks, or radio location.

Description of the offer
Join us, to do what?
Do you want to contribute to the development of an emerging research theme in the field of localization for the networks of the future?
You will be in charge of work on this theme and you will contribute directly to the development of algorithms and protocol optimizations for radiolocation.
More specifically, the research axes include:
- The development and integration of location functions to 5G cellular systems,
- The use of AI tools, to optimize the accuracy and/or continuity of the location service,
- The development of localization techniques suitable for low bandwidth signals in the context of dense and heterogeneous networks.
You will also participate in setting up and managing industrial and collaborative projects (eg European or national institutional projects) to support this activity.
To carry out the projects with which you will be associated, you will recruit and supervise non-permanent staff (doctoral students, postdoctoral students), who will carry out tasks in their area of expertise.
The results of this work will be promoted through scientific publications and patents, and may be transferred to our industrial partners, if necessary.
Why join us?
- In the heart of the Alps, an exceptional and internationally recognized scientific ecosystem, in a city committed to the ecological transition “Grenoble Green Capital of Europe 2022”. A location of the substation close to the city center.
- A unique research environment dedicated to themes with strong societal stakes, eco-design of sustainable wireless systems.
- Experience on a theme at the forefront of innovation, with strong potential for industrial development, particularly in the field of localization.
- An experience to strengthen your skills or acquire new ones, by integrating into a laboratory with strong technical expertise.
- A balance between private and professional life (52 days off/RTT per year), telecommuting, an active works council for leisure and extra-professional activities.
- Company savings topped up by the CEA,
- Remuneration according to your diplomas and your experience, benefiting from a regular progression,
- An environment conducive to professional development,
Candidate profile
Required profile :
- Research activities in the field of radiolocation, with 5 to 8 years of experience.
- Expertise in algorithms, signal processing and protocols for radio location: theoretical framework, simulation validation, even measurements
- In-depth knowledge of AI techniques, particularly applied to localization
- Project management experience
- Multiple publications in leading conferences and journals
- Invention or co-invention of several patents
