According to AFP, Voyager 2, which is exploring interstellar space, has its antenna pointed 2 degrees away from Earth because of a command sent on the 21st of last month. As the direction changed, the signal could not reach the earth or receive commands.

In response, NASA tried to capture Voyager 2’s signal through the Deep Space Network, a large antenna in Canberra, Australia, and fortunately, it detected a fine signal on the 31st of last month.

Later, NASA said through SNS (social media) that “(this) informed that the spacecraft was in good health.” If the signal was still not picked up, it would be unable to transmit data or receive commands until the automatic recalibration set for October 15th.

Voyager 2 was launched in 1977 to explore exoplanets and has been on a space voyage for 47 years. It is now more than 19.9 billion km from Earth.

Two weeks after the launch of Voyager 2, the twin spacecraft Voyager 1 was also launched. At a distance of 24 billion km from Earth, it is the most distant among human spacecraft. Voyager 1 is still communicating.
