Within the framework of COP16, on October 21 and 28, the Mission of Wise Men, belonging to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, will hold the forum ‘The International Mission of Wise Men, in the key of biodiversity’, which will take place in the Auditorium Paraninfo of the Events Center of the Free University, Campus Valle del Lili.
The forum will be divided into two days, the first will be on October 21 from 8:00 am to 12 noon, and the second will be on October 28 from 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm, where they will attend scientists and panelists of national and international stature who will bring knowledge from the academic area of Universities such as the University of Los Andes, the Universidad del Rosario, Harvard University, Stanford University, the University of Hamburg and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) .
This event will be of great interest to different audiences and value groups, given the participation of the professionals who will attend, since the Mission of the Wise is made up of a group of 47 experts designed to provide tools and strengthen knowledge in relation to environmental issues. , such as: responding to sustainability challenges, biotechnology, bioeconomy, biodiversity, creative and cultural industries, human development, basic sciences, among other thematic focuses.
It is important to emphasize that the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP16) of the United Nations Organization is held every two years, mainly treating the environmental issue as a global political and geopolitical issue by having the responsibility of making political decisions with environmental approaches. .
Along the same lines, COP16, which will be held in the city of Santiago de Cali from October 21 to November 1, will offer spaces for citizens that seek to promote and educate attendees to reflect on how the relationship with society is lived. -nature and about the new dynamics that are necessary to implement on a daily basis for the conservation of nature and the prolongation of natural resources.
