LENS
Sigma is now releasing a full-frame fisheye lens for the Sony E and L-Mount, with several specifications suitable for astrophotography.
Sigma 15mm F1.4 DG DN Diagonal Fisheye | Art is a full-frame diagonal fisheye lens with a 180-degree field of view and f/1.4 aperture – making it suitable for astrophotography, landscape and architecture. As the name suggests, the lens is part of the Art series, which means high demands on image sharpness and quality.
The lens is made up of 21 lens elements in 15 groups, with four FLD and three SLD low-dispersive elements, along with two aspherical ones. Through its construction, it can correct both sagittal coma/flare and other aberrations. The lens must also be sharp over the entire lens surface. The AF motor is a linear motor, HLA (High-response Linear Actuator).
The lens has a “manual focus lock” switch that allows you to turn off the focus ring function. In addition, there are holders for lens heaters, something that is needed when shooting in cold conditions for a long time.
It is also possible to use gel filters through the filter holder at the lens bayonet, as the front lens element does not allow filter mounting. The lens is equipped with an Arca-Swiss compatible magnesium alloy tripod mount. There is also a programmable AF-L button that is set via the camera menu of compatible cameras.
The lens now completes the range of Art lenses suitable for astrophotographers, along with the 14mm F1.4 DG DN | Art, 20mm F1.4 DG DN | Art and 24mm F1.4 DG DN | Species. The weight is 1360 grams.
Sales start is March 14, 2024, and fits Sony E and L-Mount. Recommended price is SEK 25,395 including VAT.
